Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Aurora Borealis LLC ("Aurora Borealis", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal data when you visit https://www.auroraborealis.tech/ (the "Site"), send us a message or join the waitlist for our protocol.

It applies to the Site only. The commercial services we provide to our clients are governed by the agreements we sign with them.

1. Who we are

Aurora Borealis LLC is a company registered in Delaware, United States. Our registered address is 8 The Green, STE #4476, Dover, DE 19901, United States. For any question about this policy or your personal data, email contact@auroraborealis.tech.

2. What we collect

• Contact form. When you send us a message, we collect the name, email address, subject and message you enter. Providing this information is voluntary; without it we cannot reply.
• Waitlist. The waitlist for our protocol runs on Google Forms. The form asks for name, work email, company, its location, role, industry, what the agents would transact for and how the protocol would be adopted. Google LLC processes your responses on our behalf under Google's own privacy policy; we receive the responses you submit.
• Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records your IP address, browser type, the pages you open and the time of your visit. We use these logs only to run and secure the Site.
• Cookies. The Site does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.

We do not collect payment details, government identifiers or any special categories of personal data through the Site. Please do not send us such information through the contact form.

3. Why we use it and on what legal basis

We use personal data for the following purposes. Where the law of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland applies, the legal basis is shown in parentheses.

• To answer your message and follow up on your inquiry (our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us; or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract).
• To tell you when the protocol launches and to send occasional updates about it, if you joined the waitlist (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any email).
• To operate, secure and improve the Site (our legitimate interest in keeping the Site available and safe).
• To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims (legal obligation; legitimate interest).

We do not use personal data collected through the Site for advertising, profiling or automated decision-making, and we do not sell it.

4. Who we share it with

• Service providers that host the Site, deliver our email and run the waitlist form — currently Google Workspace and Google LLC (Google Forms). They process data only on our instructions.
• Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors) where necessary.
• Authorities, courts or other parties where the law requires it or where it is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others.
• A buyer or successor if Aurora Borealis is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets; we will tell you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and the service providers listed above may store data in the United States or other countries. If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this means your data is transferred outside your region. Where required, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum) or on a provider's participation in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. 6. How long we keep it

• Messages sent through the contact form: up to 24 months after our last exchange with you, unless a longer period is needed for a contract or a legal claim.
• Waitlist responses: until the protocol launches and for 12 months afterwards, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever is earlier.
• Server logs: 90 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
• ask us to correct or delete it;
• object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before;
• lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in the EEA, the authority of your country; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@auroraborealis.tech. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We respond within the time required by applicable law (normally one month in the EEA and UK, 45 days in California).

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to the people who need it, and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links and services

The Site links to Google Forms and may link to other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to read.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. If the changes are material, we will post a notice on the Site or, where we have your email address, tell you directly.
